  • A local group built new bus stop benches today on key transit routes to improve accessibility for residents. The benches were designed after community input (enhancing local transit) and they fill a gap in available public amenities.  FOX 19 Now

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Norwood-based Queen City Angels rebranded as QCA Ventures — their membership jumped to 220 across 25 states in the past decade as they shifted to investing larger amounts in startup companies.  Local 12 News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • On Monday, Feb. 2, Hamilton hosted a ribbon-cutting for the Advanced Manufacturing Workforce and Innovation Hub at 101 Knightsbridge Drive; the $31 million project unites Miami University, Butler Tech, OhioMeansJobs Butler County and local officials to boost training and revive a long-unused facility for manufacturing jobs.  WCPO

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Butler Tech announced a $12.7 million expansion of the Bioscience Center in West Chester Twp that will add five classrooms and two simulation labs to double adult nursing capacity beginning in April to ease the healthcare shortage.  Journal-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Hamilton County is auctioning suite furniture from Paycor Stadium on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 1701 Patricia McCollum Way in Cincinnati; the auction offers live and online bidding for Bengals-branded seating and bar fixtures (a four percent fee applies to credit card purchases) that must be removed on the day.  WLWT
  • A new federal SNAP rule requires older adults and certain parents to document 80 work or training hours per month — local recipients in Ohio must show proof starting in March to avoid benefit drops by May.  Local 12 News
  • Hamilton County commissioners honored civil rights pioneer Betty Daniels Rosemond during Black History Month — recognizing her work as a Freedom Rider and her 50-plus years in Cincinnati. Her family accepted the tribute on her behalf.  Local 12 News

  • Heaven's Gain Ministries, a Greater Cincinnati organization, is hosting its Share the Love fundraiser on Feb. 14 at the Receptions Center in Erlanger to support families coping with pregnancy loss.
